Goal
  • Design and implement a series of games inspired
by the game Hopscotch that teachers can use in
    the classroom
  • Create interactive games that are both
physically engaging and educationally useful for
    little kids (kindergarten elementary)
  • Give teachers more control over game settings
    through a simple interface

Why Hopscotch?
  • Kids have a lot of energy
  • Why not use this energy for learning?
  • Make learning exciting and fun
  • Promote physical activity inside the classroom
  • Learn math or spelling while getting some
    exercise
  • Regular exercise is an important part of a kids
    well-being

4
Other Learning Games
  • Researched the internet for other learning games
that are classroom friendly and involve some
    form of physical activity
  • Did not find the type of game that we were
specifically looking for (lots of physical
activity not just hand movement or mouse
    clicking)
  • Found a lot of educational web-based games
