These moths are presented as proof of evolution.
Before the industrial revolution the trees in
England had light colored tree bark and there
were very few dark colored moths. The theory was
that this occurred because the dark colored moths
were more visible to predators.

During the industrial revolution the tree bark
became dark and the population of dark colored
moths became dominant and very few light colored
moths were present presumably because they were
more visible to predators. When the pollution
problems were solved the tree bark returned to
light colors and the moth populations reversed.

The DNA information content probably did not
change or possibly decreased slightly. Light
and dark colored moths were always present
indicating that the information for both types of
moths was in the gene pool.

Since the early 1980s it has been known that
Kettlewells photos were staged BUT even if they
were true they are only an example of Micro
Evolution. In both cases the moths are still
Peppered Moths.
