  • There is simply no question that it is easier to
move a school from Point A to Point B if the we
as a educators (administrators, teachers, non
teaching staff, community members) know where
Point B is located and how to recognise it once
    we arrive (Du Four 1991)

More than a VISION
  • Bamburg and Andrews (1990) believe that to be an
    effective instructional leader, one must
  • 1. have a vision for the organization that is
clearly focused upon desired outcome (i.e.,
    "ensuring academic excellence")
  • 2. communicate that vision to everyone connected
with the organization to obtain support for it
  • 3. provide and/or obtain the resources needed to
    accomplish the vision (i.e., materials,
    information, or opportunity)
  • 4. manage oneself so the above can occur. (p. 29)

over if you just sit there - Will Rogers

policies, plans and resourcing, and reflect the
    spirit of our school

  • that change is a process that takes considerable
    time whats our timeline
  • that it is natural to resist an
innovation/change, but some change is not
    negotiable
  • Change must be able to be demonstrated
    monitored we are all accountable!
