Background

• The literal meaning of French word ETG (Etats
  Generaux) is State of Affairs
• In AeAs context ETG leads to the global policy
  resolutions of the organization to provide
  overall directions to our work
• ETG review takes place once in 5 years
• Review of ETG II would lead to ETG III resolutions

Chronology of ETG

• The first ETG of the organization was prepared in
  the year 1998 with the participation of 12
  country programs of AeA
• II ETG developed in 2004

Changes between ETG I II (1998 2004)

• Community participation in defining educational
  needs - COME (Community Owned and Managed
  Education)
• Sustainability mechanisms - VEDC, Education fund,
  intervention in government schools etc.,
• Partnership - Shift from big NGOs to small NGOs
  (SECURE, DEED, MARI etc.,)
• Development of additional curriculums in schools
  towards QE (DEED, ICCW etc.,)
• Direct intervention projects - COPE Harda, DIP
  Kodai, DIP Sathy etc.,
• Role transformation From donor to support
  organization
• Capacity building support to NGOPs
• New initiatives - Promotion of liberate school
  project

  of the organization
