Wireless security

• If you can, use wired segments whenever possible
  in your home
• Disable DHCP services on all access points
• Enable encryption!
• Relocate your access point to a lower elevation
  for shorter range

Be stealthy

• Change access point SSID to something that
  doesn't include your address, company name, or
  other identifying data
• Use longest possible keys for encryption and
  change them regularly

Isolate and protect your network

• Employ a special appliance to isolate your
  wireless users (BlueSocket, ReefEdge, Vernier
  Networks, Mobility from Netmotion Wireless are
  some examples) expensive but safer
• Setup NetStumbler and actually roam around your
  neighborhood and see whose networks you can
  connect to
