SUB-PIXEL IMAGE REGISTRATION
Methods for improving resolution and noise
reduction of images in a video stream are
proposed. The methods include use of localization
algorithms based on matched filtering and
adaptive filtering, imaging sequence simulation
using spatial domain filtering and non linear
restoration filtering. In order to provide
efficient computational algorithms for generating
enhanced images, a low computational method for
image registration is suggested that uses motion
estimation data contained in compressed video
streams. The main result of this work is an
algorithm for generating higher resolution images
from a small set of given low resolution images,
obtained from various sources. The example
herein presents the improvement of a low
resolution MPEG stream utilizing the
super-resolution algorithm.
