Our History

• Establish in 1975 by the Junior League of Mobile
  and the Community Chest Council
• Now operates as an independent 501(c)3
  organization.
• Affiliated with Points of Light in 1997 and Hands
  on Network in 2007. Post-merger of the two
  networks, we are a Hands On Network affiliate.
• Instrumental in helping the Mobile community
  recovery from Hurricane Ivan in 2004 and
  Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

  to deliver creative solutions to community
  issues.
• As a Hands On Network affiliate, we strive to
  train and connect volunteers through meaningful
  actions.
• We believe that every person has a right and an

• Volunteer Mobile has over 250 partner agencies
  and organizations that we support through
  volunteer referrals.
• Currently, over 8,000 volunteers are registered
  on www.1800volunteer.org, our volunteer
  management website.
• Train and refer volunteers to our partner
  agencies.

  well-organized by an organization with over 30
  years of experience, to ensure a successful

Proposals Projects

• Proposals for services will be accepted at any
  time. Fees will be determined based on the
  project scope and number of volunteers involved.
• A unique opportunity for businesses to volunteer
  and sponsor a project is during Corporate Month
  of Service in September at Fonde Elementary.
