Introduction
The Chittagong Hill Tracts is one of the most
Diverse region in Bangladesh in terms of
geography, demography, economy and culture. Its
includes three districts, Rangamati, Bandarban
and Khagrachari. . The majority of the
population of the CHT belongs to eleven
Indigenous groups and hence the rejoin is
formally classified by Law as a
"Tribal-inhabited Area (CHT Regional Council
Act 1998).Now these day Bengali peoples are
also migrating there day by day.

Khagrapur Mahila Kalyan Samity (KMKS) is a
leading local development and women focal
organization (NGO) at Khagrachari Hill District,
came into being in 1993 with the effort of a
group of local Womens leaders under the
guidance of Ms. Shefalika Tripura, a widely
respected social worker and women rights worker
of Khagrachari.

• KMKS has been implementing some programs in
• three districts of CHT, among them one of the
• most important and Prior program is women
• violence protection. Such as
• Awareness raising training to the local and
• traditional leaders i.e. Headman, Karbari,
  Union
• Parishad members, Chairman, Religion leaders
• and also community on the issue of VAW.
• Advocacy with the local govt.
• Local police department ,civil Society
• and Media persons etc .

• Awareness raising training among the teenage
• boys-Girls on the issue of VAW, Domestic
  violence.
• Documentation of VAW cases.
• KMKS helping victims by providing Legal Aid
  service
• through BLAST,
• Bangladesh Manobadhikar Songstha, etc.

• KMKS had documented 23 Rape cases
• and 4 domestic violence cases of indigenous
• girls out of them
• 17 girls was raped by a bengali Settelar
• and police officers in CHT within one year.
• 6 was raped by an indigenous Men.

• Despite of the rape cases and domestic
• violence We have so many problems in terms
• of education, poverty, culture, language,
• Food Shortage, Rate flood, Human rights
• violenceand land rights of IPs.
• The most important and critical issue is land
• rights. We also had documented
• Some of land problem cases-
• Jumma Village attacked by Bengali settelers
• at Gangaram Durar on 9 Aug 2008.
• A NGO Development organization of the
• Rural poor occupied the orchards of the IPs
• at Tongo Jiripara in Bandarban district on
• May 2008.

conclusion
The indigenous women in the CHT are persistently
vulnerable to physical attack and sexual
assault. There is little scope for families to
file official charge against the accused
attackers, as they lack financial means
support from the judicial System and local
police authorities. Rape is a horrific Violence
against these women and is often part of the
overall oppression and violence against the
vulnerable IPs of the regions. Land issues is
also the one of Major issues of the IPS.
However, Peace accord Signing by the government
, still IPs inhabited of the area continue to
live in fear of attract from Bengali settlers.
