In the beginning
  • Program was 30,000 in debt
  • Most of the equipment was broken, obsolete or
    missing
  • No personnel management training
  • Inherited a technician that had been with the
    program for 28 years
  • No budget management experience

Even worse
  • Never had written a successful competitive grant
  • Never created or delivered a course
  • Didnt know anything about wheat
  • Couldnt drive a tractor

Not exactly the formula for success!

    etc.)
