Protein SynthesisStudent Animations
  • Copy the next slide if you need to to give you
the diagrams needed to explain Transcription and
    Translation.
  • Then edit each slide in turn to tell the story of
Protein Synthesis using the graphics to
    illustrate your text.
  • The last slide gives a suggested sequence of
    slide titles

Summary of the seven steps
  • mRNA molecule attaches to the Ribosome
  • The tRNA molecules each attach to their
    respective amino acids.
  • The tRNA molecule whose anticodon matches the
mRNA triplet codon shown on the ribosome attaches
    to the ribosome.
  • The mRNA moves across on the ribosome and the
    next matching tRNA attaches.
  • A peptide bond is formed between the two amino
    acids.
  • The mRNA moves across again, the first tRNA
molecule is released and a third tRNA attaches to
    the ribosome.
  • The process continues until a polypeptide of 5
    amino acids is formed.
  • The next two slides give an example of how to
    begin.
