- The Santander Group is a European Universities'
Network with the aims of establishing special
academic, cultural and socio-economic ties
between universities - Established in 1988
- International Non-Profit Making Association
under Spanish law - Membership 37 Universities from 16 countries

Strengthen the individual potential of member
universities to develop excellence in university
governance, teaching and research through
collaborative approaches.
The Santander Group is based on mutual trust,
understanding and respect for cultural diversity,
which makes the Network an open forum for the
exchange of experience and best practices.

- Strengthen links and co-operation between the SG
University members and with international
organisations - Encourage joint educational, research, and
lifelong learning projects amongst SG members - Facilitate the mobility of students, academic and
administrative staff - Promote international Masters and PhD courses

institutions, associations and organisations of
higher education - Exchange experience and knowledge contributing to
the building of the European Higher Education Area
