Compositing in PremiereShooting Against Solid
  • First, shoot a clip against a solid color back
    drop.
  • You may want to create a bin labeled Blue Screen
    Clips and put all your compositing clips in
    that bin

Tracks
  • Place the clip or still you want to fill in for
    what you key out on Video Track Two.
  • Put the clip that was shot against the blue wall
    on a higher numbered video track.
  • For example, the new background video would be on
    Video Track Two and the blue screened video
    would be placed on Video Track Three.

Compositing in PremiereSetting Transparency
  • Select the blue screened clip and right click
    on it.
  • You will see a context menu pop up. Go to Video
    Options and then on to Transparency.

  • You will see the Transparency Settings window
    pop up.
  • Choose your Key Type commonly you will choose
    the Chroma key.

  • Place your cursor over the blued portion of the
    Color section of the Transparency Window.
  • This will select the exact hue, based on the
    pixel selected, that will be keyed out.

  • Adjusting the Similarity slider will increase
    or decrease how much blue will be keyed out.
  • You can adjust the other sliders to experiment
    on their effects for what gets keyed out.

  • You can choose to view the effects of your
    adjustments on the various sliders by selecting
    either the black/white, transparency, or
    sources view.

  • Click ok on the Transparency Settings window.
  • The last step is to render the composited
    clips.
  • Go to the Timeline menu on the Premiere
    interface. Click on Render Work Area.
