Title: Suffering%20
1Suffering Glory By Righteousness
2Then He said to them, Thus it is written, and
thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer
and to rise from the dead the third day
3and if children, then heirsheirs of God and
joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with
Him, that we may also be glorified together. For
I consider that the sufferings of this present
time are not worthy to be compared with the glory
which shall be revealed in us.
4Love suffers long and is kind
5And if one member suffers, all the members suffer
with it or if one member is honored, all the
members rejoice with it.
6As many as desire to make a good showing in the
flesh, these would compel you to be circumcised,
only that they may not suffer persecution for the
cross of Christ.
7Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the
excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my
Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all
things, and count them as rubbish, that I may
gain Christ
8Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David,
was raised from the dead according to my gospel,
for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even
to the point of chains but the word of God is
not chained
9For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all
things and by whom are all things, in bringing
many sons to glory, to make the captain of their
salvation perfect through sufferings. For both He
who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified
are all of one, for which reason He is not
ashamed to call them brethren, saying I will
declare Your name to My brethren In the midst
of the assembly I will sing praise to You.
10But recall the former days in which, after you
were illuminated, you endured a great struggle
with sufferings
11Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray.
12Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and
searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace
that would come to you, searching what, or what
manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in
them was indicating when He testified beforehand
the sufferings of Christ and the glories that
would follow.
13For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for
your faults, you take it patiently? But when you
do good and suffer, if you take it patiently,
this is commendable before God. For to this you
were called, because Christ also suffered for us,
leaving us an example, that you should follow His
steps
14For it is better, if it is the will of God, to
suffer for doing good than for doing evil. For
Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for
the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being
put to death in the flesh but made alive by the
Spirit
15Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the
flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind,
for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased
from sin
16But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a
thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other
peoples matters. Yet if anyone suffers as a
Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him
glorify God in this matter.
17But may the God of all grace, who called us to
His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have
suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen,
and settle you.
