Explode A Moment

• Dissect key words in the prompt.
• Use word association with those key terms
• Circle the strongest associated words
• Determine a situation were those work together to
  answer the prompt

• Determine a character and a point of view
• Write down what the character sees, hears,
  smells, touches, feels, and tastes.
• This should lead you to a specific moment in time
  which brings clarity to your 1st draft.

Peer Editing

• Form Groups
• Each student reads their paper aloud to their
  group
• The group gives positive and negative feedback on
  specific parts of the paper like organization,
  voice, diction, sentence fluency, and of course
  the thesis statement.
• The next student begins to read until the cycle
  is complete.

• Two different color highlighters
• Alternate colors while highlighting every
  sentence.
• Brackets around the first word in each sentence.

• Triangle around all pronouns
• X out over words really, very, some, like,
  stuff, thing, good, bad,
