A Program for Planners

• The purpose of the Continuous Professional
  Learning program is to engage members in
  furthering their knowledge, understanding, skills
  and abilities relevant to the theory, methods,
  and practice of planning

MPPIs CPL Program

• Official start date January 1st, 2006
• Members undertake learning activity to earn CPL
  credit, or learning units (LUs)
• 18 LUs are earned and reported on annually
• The first reporting year will be retroactive
  members can report activities undertaken from
  Sept. 1st, 2004 to December 31st, 2006

Learning Units

• Learning Units are earned by undertaking
  activities that are considered either
  Organized/Structured or Independent
• LUs are assigned according to the time needed or
  degree of engagement required to complete the
  activity
• A minimum of half the required LUs must be
  organized/structured
