Grauman Chinese Theater
  • This theaters architect was Sid Grauman The
    outside of the Grauman Chinese theater resembles
    a big Chinese Pagoda. The architecture of this
    theater features its tourists a huge Chinese
    dragon up at the front, along with two stone
    lion-dogs guarding the main entrance, and the
    silhouettes of small dragons from top to bottom
    of the sides of the copper roof.

Colosseum
  • The style of this architecture is Ancient Roman,
    Classical, Doric, Ionic, Corinthian engaged
    columns, and Corinthian pilasters. This theater
    was used for fights among gladiators and animals
    who were usually prisoners of wars. This theater
    was built 70 to 82 A.D. The building is located
    in Rome, Italy The architects were unknown.

Elizabethan Theater
  • This theater was built for Queen Elizabeth
    herself which William Shakespeare would perform
    his plays in this theater. The architect who have
    designed this building was James Burbage with the
    help from Dr. John Dee.

Shakespeares Globe Theater
  • The interior of this theater has the open-air,
    octagonal amphitheater which rises three stories
    high with a diameter of approximately 100 feet
    which holds a seating capacity of up to 3,000
    audience members. The rectangular stage platform
    on which the plays were performed was about 43
    feet wide and 28 feet deep. This staging area had
    trap doors in its flooring and primitive rigging
    overhead for various stage effects. The architect
    of this theater is unknown

  • This theater located in Sydney, Australia was
    built from1957 to 1973. This building was
    constructed for operas, and its a expressional
    modern style. The architect of this theater was
    Jorn Utzon.

  • The architect of this building is Jean Nouvel who
    has been willing to use traditional forms. The
    design of this theater is a 255,000 square foot
    building that replicates the theater's signature
    thrust stage and will seat 1,100 audience members.
