2Hydrology means - The scientific study of the
properties, distribution, and effects of water on
the earth's surface, in the soil and underlying
rocks, and in the atmosphere.
Hydrologists study processes like rainfall,
run-off, evaporation, river flows (floods and
droughts), erosion and water pollution. They may
work in environmental protection preventing or
cleaning up pollution or locating sites for safe
disposal of hazardous wastes. .

limnologists (lakes)
geochemists (groundwater quality)
hydrometeorologists (atmosphere)
glaciologists (glaciers)
geomorphologists (landforms)

Essential A degree or diploma in
hydrology,engineering, statistics, Agricultural
Science soil physics, hydrology, geology, or
related field. Desirable additional
formal-postgraduate qualifications to Ph. D.
level. Four years relevant post graduate
experience.

observation, able to work independently, good
communication skills, able to prepare accurate
records and reports
