  • Use short simple sentences with clear
    instructions
  • Use concise paragraphs with clear topic headings
  • Be conscious where sentences begin on the page
  • Give instructions clearly - avoid long sentences
    of explanation
  • Use bullet points or numbering for lists
  • Where appropriate use graphics that explain
    complex text
  • Highlighting is a good way of drawing attention
    to the main points
  • Adding colour will increase the chances of long
    term memory
