Vision
  • To serve as an advising regional, clinical, and
    readiness partner with state and local public
    health departments, hospitals and stand-alone
    facilities, caregivers and the citizens of
    Montana in the area of infectious and
    communicable disease.

Mission
  • To create a cohesive voice for Infectious
    Disease issues in Montana and to act as a liaison
    between state and federal agencies and local
    providers regarding infection control policy and
    practice, infectious disease prevention and
    treatment, outbreak preparedness and
    responsiveness, critical analysis and problem
    solving capabilities related to infectious and
    communicable disease.

Objectives
  • Be available to educate and train for early
    identification, recognition and rational
    effective response to infectious diseases.
  • Review and explore new technologies to improve
    widespread communication imaging tools, virtual
    computerization, decision algorithms.
  • Facilitate and share infectious disease research.
  • Provide advise on statewide resource allocation
    in the event of outbreaks of communicable
    disease.
  • Act in an advisory role to identify outbreaks,
    interpret mandates or assist PH officials in
    tailoring health initiatives specific to Montana
    cities and counties.
  • Review and provide expert advice on policy and
    legislative issues impacting communicative
    diseases.
