2Background
- Among the P.4 teachers, 3 of us are the first
year teachers - Two are in the second year, they are more
experienced. - Some of us are trained in the IELP
- We found that the workshops are very useful for
us to manage the teaching skills, especially the
video clips. - The school visits are useful, the educators
provided valuable suggestions. - The sharing of our experienced teachers is
precious. The team preparations help us to solve
a lot of problems. -
3Our Students
- Our students like the project very much. They are
used to the Shared Book Approach for three years
(from P.1 to P.3). They are not interested in the
textbook based approach. - The Guided Reading acts as a good transitional
period for them to switch to the new learning
strategies. - The KWL and Retelling help our students to think
critically and they are really learning to learn.
The smart students show their progress obviously.
4The support of our school
- The team preparations

- WELTS (Web-based English Learning System)
- The application of Smartboard
- The teacher assistants and parents help to
produce the teaching aids. -
5Every students have their own accounts.
6The Reading Room helps students to read the text
independently, especially for the slower progress
students. This system helps to motivate them to
read more.

help the students to understand the texts more.
