  • When you first arrive for your interview, the
    manager will probably ask you to fill-out the
    companys standard job application. The job
    application is designed to help the manager spot
    your strengths and weaknesses quickly. Here are
    a few things to consider

Point One
  • Print, dont write cursive.
  • Printing is much easier to read. Use your best
    penmanship

Point Two
  • Use a pen, not a pencil.
  • Pencil is too easy to smear or
  • smudge.

Point Three
  • Neatness counts.
  • A neat looking application says that you take
    pride in your work. A sloppy application with
    lots of crossed out information and mistakes says
    youre a sloppy worker.

  • Answer every question.
  • However, if a question bothers you, write See
    me. If you feel that a question is improper,
    leave it blank. If a question doesnt apply to
    you, write n/a (not applicable).

  • If you have a ghost in your past, a criminal
    record, write see me in the space provided.
    During the interview you can explain what
    happened, what you have learned and how you have
    tried to make amends for your mistake.

  • Dont give an expected salary.
  • You may price yourself out of the job if its
    too large. Instead write Open.

  • 6. Be accurate. Make sure all names are spelled
    correctly and all addresses, telephone umbers and
    dates are correct. An inaccurate application
    says that you are an inaccurate worker.

  • 7. Make sure your reason for leaving each job is
    a good one. Managers arent fond of quitters.

  • 8. Make sure you have permission to use a
    persons name before you offer him or her a as a
    reference.

  • 9. Be honest. No exaggerating any
    misrepresentation or omission is sufficient
    grounds for immediate dismissal.

  • 10. Dont forget to sign and date the
    application after you read the agreement.
