Why QcPlanet?

• We have created strong contacts with school
  officials.
• We have talked to most existing clubs
• Now there are 7 major clubs and 5 departments
  maintaining forum pages on QcPlanet.

Advertising

• Put posters around campus.
• Word of mouth marketing
• We set the homepages of machines in computer labs
  in campus to www.qcplanet.com (Sneaky! I know.)

Some roadblocks we have met and eventually
cleared.

• Early stages of the site building was quite
  difficult even to the graduate students in
  computer science of our group.
• We lost all the data due to a power failure on a
  private server. In order to ensure security in
  the future, we now pay to have the website
  running on a third party hosting server.
• Most of us are full-time students and working
  part-time, the hours needed to pull this project
  off posed a real challenge to our time management
  skill.

Difficulties we still facing

• Lack of membership and content.
• Some founding members are leaving (graduating).

Long term strategies to overcome these
difficulties

1. Engage in even more aggressive ad-campaigns.
2. Make use of the network we created this semester.
3. Organize CLIQ point events in the fall.
4. Apply for funding so our future members do not
   have to pay out of their own pocket for
   maintenance of the site.

Conclusion

• We wish that more students will make use of
  www.qcplanet.com to enhance their lives in Queens
  College, that students in this commuter school
  will feel ever more like one community, and that
  the site we put so much effort and time in will
  still be in existence years down the road.
