• To complete external reporting requirements for
  the university, the Registrars Office prepares
  two hold files
• UST_STU_TENTH
• UST_CRS_TENTH
• Which contain information on all students
  (UST_STU_TENTH) and their detailed course
  registration information (UST_CRS_TENTH) that
  freezes information in the Banner system as of
  the official 10th day of the term.

• The hold files are snapshots of a specific date
  in time of two tables that are updated daily
• UST_STU_CURRENT
• UST_CRS_CURRENT

• The Registrars Office runs a set of AppWorx jobs
  daily that populate two tables
• UST_STU_CURRENT, and
• UST_CRS_CURRENT
• With information as of the end of day yesterday
  for terms currently considered active. These two
  files are the basis for the hold files that are
  pulled on day 10 of each term.

• To qualify for inclusion in UST_STU_CURRENT and
  UST_CRS_CURRENT, the student must have a primary
  student level of U, G, L, P and have at least one
  credit of registration (RE or OR status).

• UST_STU_CURRENT
• Contains a single line for each student for a
  term and includes
• Bio/demo information age, gender, ethnicity,
  international student status, FT/PT status, FTE,
  total credits, class
• Program information (for both primary and
  secondary programs) degree, level, major(s),
  minor(s), concentration(s)
• Historical data (from pre-Banner is available in
  the same table)

• UST_CRS_CURRENT
• Contains a single line for each course
  registration for each student and includes
• Course identification information (subject code,
  course number, CRN, term)
• Registration Status
• Campus
• Grade Type
• Banner ID of the instructor

• A third set of tables
• UST_STU_EOT, and
• UST_CRS_EOT
• Will be populated going forward with end-of-term
  information so that comparisons between 10th day
  and end of term can be made.

External Reporting

• Any requests to report UST information externally
  though go through Institutional Research
  Analysis.
• For student-related reporting, all reports are
  completed using the 10th day hold file data
  unless
• The external requestor specifically requests use
  of data from another date, or
• The information requested is not available in the
  hold file

External Reporting

• Consistency in external reporting is important.
• The UST_STU_TENTH, UST_STU_CURRENT,
  UST_CRS_TENTH, UST_CRS_CURRENT are all available
  in ODSP for reporting.
