will be provided during all plenary sessions,

scientific programme, offering actual topics and
excellent speakers. - Young Scientists
- A Young Scientist session will provide a special
platform for presentations by young scientists
(below 33 years of age). Each presenter in this
session will compete for the ESC Young Scientist
Prize. - Training and education
- The programme will ensure the educational aims
of the congress through specific sessions and
tools. Approval of the Congress programme for
continuing medical education (CME) is
anticipated. - Expert meetings
- Informal, round-table discussions during lunch
with a maximum of 15 participants.

- Workshops and fora
- Fora will be organizeded as interactive
sessions, introduced by two experts in the field
and followed by an in depth discussion with the
audience. - A workshop will teach participants how to
search for information, carry out research and
write a paper. - Sessions of ESC Expert Groups
- The newly established Expert Groups will organize
their own sessions for the first time and
will focus on the highlights in their area of
expertise. - Society sessions
- Awards
- Besides the ESC Best Poster and ESC Young
Scientists Awards, the ESC Medal will be awarded
for the second time to honour a member for
his/her outstanding scientific work and/or
organizing activity performed in accordance with
the aims of the Society.
