Goals for my project
  • To make it easier for families during deployment
    time.
  • To have more information available to those
    families.
  • To make it safe for the families.
  • To finish the booklet for the military spouses.
  • To get the book approved by the commanders
  • To make all copies needed.
  • To hand all of the copies out successfully to
    everyone who needs them.
  • To spell everything correctly.
  • To send active personnel into duty, knowing that
their families are taken care of.

3
Why I chose this project
  • To make the deployment period easier on the
    military spouses.
  • To make a safer feeling on the home while
deployment. To make less stress on the spouse.
  • To give the spouse any information he/she may
    need.
  • To help manage everything while on his/her own.

What is my Project???
  • My project is the Army National Guard
Deployment Guide This Guide Book will help the
military spouse with almost everything they need.
In this guide it tells you where to cal if there
are certain emergencies, what kind of attitude to
have, and even how to deal with the stress that
is put on you. I want to make deployment as easy
as possible for the spouses to live a normal
life. Even with family to take care of, you can
always use some extra help. My project is a guide
for what may or may not come up during the time
    the soldier is activated.

You can Do It!!!
  • When sailors are away,
  • Spouses also need to get the sense that they
  • Are moving forward and up.
  • Frustration comes when military
  • Spouses see others accomplishing things,
  • While they are immobile,
  • Waiting for their other half to return.
  • If you have met with success before,
  • And everyone has,
  • You can do it again.

State Standards
  • My project met the California State Standard
Speaking Applications (Written and Oral English
Conventions 2.0). I spoke in front of the Army
National Guard Deployment meeting. Then I
presented my project to SGT David Caudill. Who
wanted me to add things to the guide and then to
get the guides all printed out, and handed out.
    And the California State Standard

What I would have done differently
  • Gotten a partner top help me with all the typing
I had to do. This was the hardest part of the
    whole project.
  • Had more meetings with my military contacts. To
make it easier to get information.
  • Provided more information. So that the people
    have more available to them.
  • Started putting the guide book together a little
earlier. So it wouldnt be rushed at the end of
    the time period.

About My Project
The project I worked on this year was the Army
National Guard/ Coast Guard Deployment Guide.
This Guide Book will help the military spouse
with almost everything they need, including where
to call for places that might give military
discounts. In this guide it tells you where to
call for emergencies, what kind of attitude to
have, and even how to deal with the stress that
is put on you. I want to make deployment as easy
as possible for the spouses to live a normal
life. And life during deployment isnt always
easy even with someone or something to help you.
Even with a family to take care of, you can
always use so extra help. This project is a guide
for what may or may not come up during the time
of deployment of a soldier/sailor. This was a
service to my community. This guide has helped my
family as well as other families with just
dealing with deployment hardships. When people
find out that they need to have their spouse with
them to get their ID cards they sometimes freak.
In the guide if they look it tells what to do and
to just get the orders and go. When I was doing
my project I had a lot of people help me. My mom
was one of those people she helped me with the
basic structure of the book, poems, pictures,
guidelines, and some of the phone numbers I
needed. My other partners were SGT David Caudill,
and a 1SGT Joseph Menard. They were the ones who
gave me all the information for the guide, and
all the support. What to do, where to go, and
who to call when I needed something important.
The Armory back me 100 on getting this guide
successfully done and handed out by the time all
the guys were ready to live on the 14th of May.
This was a very stressful and complicated
project. For this project you have to contact
certain people only on certain hours of the day
and then to meat with them after school you need
to make an appointment. I always had to contact
SGT Caudill through my mother because his office
hours are during school hours and I always made
my appointments for around three thirty or four
oclock. I only met with 1SGt Menard once during
this project time. He is a hard person to get a
hold of, especially when his hours conflict with
school. I had fun with this project. I met a lot
of my dads friends that are in the Army with
him. I met a lot of new contacts in the military.
I now know what to do if I have any questions or
my mom has any questions. I know who to call.
