Matthew 262629 While they were eating, Jesus
took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he
broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said,
Take, eat this is my body. Then he took a cup,
and after giving thanks he gave it to them,
saying, Drink from it, all of you for this is
my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for
many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I
will never again drink of this fruit of the vine
until that day when I drink it new with you in my
Fathers kingdom.
Mark 142225 While they were eating, he took a

from it. He said to them, This is my blood of

Luke 221920 Then he took a loaf of bread, and
when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it
to them, saying, This is my body, which is given
for you. Do this in remembrance of me. And he
did the same with the cup after supper, saying,
This cup that is poured out for you is the new
covenant in my blood.

8In Matthew
- Jesus tells them to go to the city and find the
man, but he is not described. - Judas is identified as the Betrayer but there is
no mention of his departure. - The bread and wine becomes Jesuss body and blood
and Jesus says it will forgive out sins.
9Matthews Passion Account Opposed to the Others
- Matthew stresses greatly the fact that the
Pharisees will not arrest Jesus during the
Passover. - He does this because his audience is the Jewish
community and if the arrest was made during the
Passover, there would be a riot. - Matthew emphasizes on a greater scale the
decision to not arrest Jesus during Passover more
than any of the other evangelists.

11 In Mark
- Jesus tells the disciples that in the city the
man carrying the water will help them make
Passover preparations. - Judas is not identified as the betrayer but Jesus
acknowledges there is one - Jesus tells the apostles the bread and wine are
his body and blood.
12In Luke
- The man who will help them in the city will carry
a water jug. - The Eucharist comes before the betrayal, but
Judas is not exposed - Jesus tells them the wine and bread are His blood
and body and that this is the new convent. He
tells them this will be his last meal with them.
13Washing of the Feet of the Apostles
- Jesus got up from the meal and washed feet of
disciples that were present - Jesus then instructed disciples to wash each
others feet - This became part of Holy Thursday ritual for
Christianity - Jesus humbles himself to show
