History - One of the first FNS Initiatives
  • Higher recycled content paper.
  • No chlorine bleaching.
  • No old-growth forest content.

  • Effluent Flow 29 million gallons

But, More Importantly
  • Campaign served as a catalyst for behavior change
    in participating agencies!
  • We helped establish a new norm for federal
    paper use on the west coast.

Campaign has transitioned to Web Based Support
  • Active contractor support was eliminated
  • Future emphasis is to be web-based, educational
  • Includes support for related activities such as
    the NW Paper Forum and the upcoming Wheat
    Straw2Paper meeting in Walla Walla,Wa.

Future of the FNS Paper Initiative
  • EPA HQ funded a major upgrade to the FNS Paper
    portion of the website
  • Work will make the website more user friendly and
    interactive and include updated EPP policies
  • Work will be completed in December 2005
  • After the upgrade, there will be a marketing and
    outreach informing other federal agencies about
    the upgrade
