• Various meanings
• Neutrals a process in which geographic distance
  becomes a factor of diminishing importance in the
  establishment and maintenance of cross border
  economic, political and socio-cultural relations
• Left criticsdrive towards a global economic
  system dominated by supranational corporate trade
  and banking institutions that are not accountable
  to national governments
• Supporters drive towards a world-wide market
  economy which will spread economic development
  and result in a more equal world
• Is there a choice of what sort of globalisation?

Globalisation Is Bad

• Economics spread of market-capitalism, driven by
  MNCs, makes world more unequal and retards
  development (Wade)
• Politics market-driven politics destroys public
  sector, trivialises key issues and makes us
  passive consumers of PR-dominated ideology
  (Leys)
• International Relations breakdown of national
  boundaries suggests Westphalian system of
  nation-states and multinationalism (UNO) are
  irrelevant
• Environment globalisation depletes non renewable
  resources

• Economics world income distribution is
  improving, globalisation promotes development

• Politics theres nothing we can do about it,
  therefore we must accommodate to new politics
  social democracy must accept a third way

  spread democracy and freedom worldwide thus,
  communism defeated reactionary theocracies will
