In the Instructor Only section of the database,
you will be able to
Instructor Only
  • Change your personal information, such as mailing
    address, phone number and email address
  • Publicize upcoming courses
  • Submit NRP course rosters

To begin
  • Go to http//www.aap.org/nrp (click here for a
    direct link to the web site)
  • Click on Instructor Only Log In button located
    in the upper left corner underneath the baby logo.

Logging In
  • Use your NRP Instructor ID number, without any
    spaces or dashes, as your ID.
  • For your first login, use your last name as your
    password.
  • The system is sensitive to hyphenated names.
    In these instances, type the name exactly as it
    is on your NRP Instructor card.

Click here if you have already set up your
security information but forgot your password.
You will enter your ID number and answer your
security question and then be able to enter a new
password.

Create Password
  • Some individuals, after logging in for the first
    time, find themselves on a page just requesting
    that they enter a new password. If this should
    happen, type the same password on both lines.
    The password must have a minimum of six
    characters. You will not actually be creating a
    password, but click to continue. You will then
    be taken to the Security Question page.

Security Question Page
Select one of the questions and type in an answer.
Enter new password twice. It must have at least
6 characters and contain both letters and numbers.
Update your e-mail address.
Click Save to continue.

Information Summary Page
  • This page lists
  • The dates of your two-year time frame
  • The number of courses that you have submitted
  • The total number of courses that have been
    approved

Update Information
To change personal information such as your
mailing address, phone number or email address
  • Click on update info.

Update Instructor Page
To add a suffix
  • Click on the arrow on the drop-down box.
  • Select Jr or Sr.

  • To add a credential
  • Click on the arrow on the drop-down box.
  • Select the appropriate credential.
  • Click the Add button.
  • The new credential will appear in the display
    box.

Entering Hospital Information
To link your instructor status to a hospital
  • Click the Find button next to the Hospital ID
    (A dialogue box will appear).
  • Type in the city and state of the hospital you
    want to find.
  • Click Find Hospital and a list of hospitals
    that match your request will appear.

Entering Hospital Information
To select a hospital
  • Click in the circle next to the appropriate
    hospital.
  • Click Select and Return.

Change Personal Information
  • Type in any new or revised information about your
    address, phone number or email address.
  • Your email address must be entered in order to
    receive messages detailing the status of your
    submitted roster.
  • Select your preferred mailing address by
    selecting the appropriate button.

Change Personal Information
  • To add a language, use the drop-down box to
    select the appropriate language and click the
    add button.
  • If you do not want providers who are looking for
    NRP courses to contact you, check the box labeled
    Do not display my information to the public.
  • Click the Update button when you have finished
    making changes.

Publicize an Upcoming Course
You are not required to publicize your upcoming
courses, but if your course is open to the
public, we encourage you to do so.
  • Click on Course List.
  • Click on the Create a Course button.

Enter Information About Upcoming Courses
  • Type in all course information.
  • Click the Post To The Web button at the bottom
    of the screen.
  • Note Your upcoming course is now listed on the
    NRP Web Site under your Roster List.

Roster List
  • Click on roster list.
  • The roster will be marked submitted once it has
    been received by Life Support staff.
  • The status will be changed to approved once it
    is approved .
  • The status will then be changed to mailed once
    your cards have been sent.

Saved Rosters
  • If your roster is saved, select the roster by
    clicking in the circle located to the left of the
    roster.
  • Click Edit Roster and the roster will appear on
    your screen.

  • Click on Review Before Submission.
  • Click on Submit Roster.

Roster List
  • Your roster will now be listed as submitted.
  • To view rosters from a previous time period,
    click on the drop-down box next to Current
    Period and select desired time period.

Submit a Course Roster
  • Click on the New Roster button.

New Roster
Your name will automatically appear as the lead
instructor.
  • Click on the type of course taught.
  • Note If you are submitting an HBI or RT roster,
    be sure to indicate if the course included the
    Provider or Provider Renewal component.
  • Select course date and lessons offered.
  • Click on Yes if the course was taught in a
    hospital.
  • Click Find button to locate your hospital.

Find a Hospital
  • Type the city and state of the hospital and click
    Find Hospital.
  • Select the radio button to the left of your
    hospital and click Select and Return.

New Roster
  • If your hospital is not listed, click No and
    type in the course location.
  • Select address to mail provider cards to.

Enter Assistant Instructors
  • If you have the instructors ID number, type it
    in the field provided and click Add.
  • If you do not have the instructors number, click
    the Find button.

Enter Assistant Instructors
  • Enter the instructors name and click Find
    Instructor.
  • A list of names that match your search will
    appear.
  • Select the appropriate instructor and click
    Select And Return.
  • Repeat this process for all other assisting
    instructors.

Student Information
  • Click on Student Info (A dialogue box
    will appear).
  • Enter the information about the first student .
  • Click on the drop-down box and select the
    appropriate credential.
  • If the appropriate credential is not listed, type
    the credentials in the field below the drop-down
    box.

Student Information
  • If the student is considered a new student,
    select Yes in the box markedNew.
  • If the student is considered a renewal student,
    select No in the box marked New.
  • Click the Add button and the students
    information will be automatically added to the
    roster at the bottom of the page.
  • Repeat this process for each student.

Student Information
  • To make corrections to student information
  • Click on the radio button next to that students
    name (The students name will appear in the
    dialogue box).
  • Make corrections and then click Update.
  • After all students have been entered, click OK
    (You will return to the first page of
    your roster).

Submit a Roster
  • After you complete your roster, click Review
    Before Submission.
  • Review Roster Information page.
  • If you need to make any revisions to the
    information entered, click the Back to Modify
    button.
  • If all the information is correct, click the
    Submit Roster button.

Hospital Based Instructor or Regional Trainer
Rosters
  • Open up a new roster the same way as with a
    provider roster.
  • Click the type of course taught, Hospital Based
    Instructor (HBI) or Regional Trainer (RT).
  • Be sure to check Provider or Provider Renewal if
    this component was included.

Rosters
  • Complete most of the roster the same way as with
    a provider course.
  • To enter student information, click on Student
    Info.
  • A new screen will appear. Click on Add Student.

Student Information
  • Enter information about the first student.
    Please use standard upper and lower case
    lettering.
  • E-mail address is now a required field for all
    NRP instructors.
  • Select the preferred mailing address.
  • Scroll through the box provided to find the
    appropriate credential and click Add.
  • When finished entering information click
    Proceed.

Student Information
  • The students name will appear on the Student
    Information page.
  • Repeat for each student on the roster.
  • In the field marked New/Renew select New if
    the student is a new instructor. Select Renew
    if the student has been an instructor in the past.
  • Click OK when finished entering students.

Submit a Roster
  • After you complete your roster, click Review
    Before Submission.
  • Review Roster Information page.
  • If you need to make any revisions to the
    information entered, click the Back to Modify
    button.
  • If all the information is correct, click the
    Submit Roster button.

Email Verifications
  • If your email address is in the database, you
    will automatically receive an email verifying the
    receipt of your roster.
  • You will receive a second email once your roster
    has been reviewed and approved.
  • You can check the status of your roster in the
    Roster List portion of the Web Site.
