Key Concepts

1. Search provides full-text search of
2. Text, html, and pdf documents
3. Summary information in document metadata
4. Documents are indexed when added, so can be
   searched within a very short time
5. Note 10,000 unique terms per document, and only
   first 20 pages of PDF are indexed. So later
   terms in large documents may not be found.

• Single words or phrases surrounded by double
  quotes ("hello dolly")
• Wildcards ? Single character or multiple
  character wildcard
• Proximity (words within a specific distance)
  "two words"10 will find "two" and "words" within
  10 words of each other
• Boost relevance word4 means word is more
  relevant

• Booleans AND, "", "", OR, "", NOT, "!", "-"
• AND, "" Both terms are required
• "" the following term is required (word)
• OR, "" Either term
• NOT, "!" A NOT B (exclude documents containing
  B)
• "-" exclude documents containing following term
  (-word)
• Can use parentheses to group clauses
