• PMs are known to be very harmful to humans
• Smaller PMs (2,5) more harmful than larger
• PM emissions are mostly a local problem

REVISION MARPOL ANNEX VI

• IMO Subcommittee Bulk Liquids and Gases
• (BLG) 3-7 April 2006 London.
• PM will also be part of the discussion of BLG.
• Preferably PM should be settled at IMO level.
• If no solutions are found, the EU may take
• unilateral steps leading to confusion between
• major trade blocks.
