Grants Allocation
Round 2 allocations will be considered in
October Allocation Committee meets in December
to make recommendations to Cabinet. NESCAB
Consultation ends 1st October for balance from
round 1 (10k) to be allocated

Community Development
  • Waveney Norse Engagement - With market Towns for
    local enhancements
  • Suffolk Speaks Partnership Currently through
    the partnership WDC have supported a county wide
    Lesbian Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender survey. The
    aim to improve services and identify further
    research needs. Focus group on how to improve
    negative perceptions of young people and identify
    their needs.
  • Lowestoft Together Continue to accept funding
    applications to support local projects.
  • Funding ends 2010 - consultation as to
    future developments.
  • Community Boards - After consultation held in
    July the aim is to begin dialogue and introduce
    the concept of development of a community board
    approach across the rural areas of Waveney.
  • Suffolk Police are setting up
    Neighbourhood Watch Panels and it is being looked
    in to joining with them

Community Development
  • Marginalised Groups Continue to reach out and
    focus on groups covering Aged, Youth, Disability,
    Faith, Black and Ethnic Minority with the aim
    communicating with these groups to see where we
    can help and improve services hearing first
    hand
  • Youth Involvement - A Waveney Youth Council is
    to be established with every High School being
    represented by 13 to 16 year olds. This will give
    the youth a voice and with this comes a sense of
    ownership in the community.
