Unit Overview

• In this unit, you assume the role of a Tourism
  Staff that help promote the Filipino culture
  among the youth by learning about the fiesta of a
  particular place and showcasing it in a
  multimedia presentation and distributing
  brochures about the place to promote it.

Expected Learning Outcomes

• At the end of this unit, you should be able to
• Note, organize and analyze details as you gather
  information about the place, the people and the
  fiesta celebrations in the Philippines
• Discuss among yourselves how fiesta celebrations
  depict the culture of the settlers
• Appreciate ones identity, being part of the
  Filipino culture
• Express your opinions about town fiestas
• Make judgment whether or not celebrating fiesta
  is a need
• Promote Filipino culture among your fellow
  students

• Appreciate being a team player in coming up with
  a group output
• Identify nouns in sentences
• Explain the function of each noun in a sentence
• Use technology tools in presenting information
  and ideas during informative talks
• Cite the references you used in coming up with
  your brochures and multimedia presentations and
• Appreciate the power of information technology as
  it aids you to a better learning.

Learning Activities

• Working in groups, the following activities
  will be covered for 15 class meetings. Learning
  activities include
• Viewing a video clip of a town fiesta celebration
• Conducting information search using the Internet
  and other media
• Preparing a multimedia presentation about a
  particular Philippine fiesta
• Promoting the place celebrating the fiesta
  through a brochure

• Putting up an exhibit, where you will showcase
  the fiesta and the place
• Learning about nouns and how they operate in a
  sentence
• Sharing your opinions about fiesta celebrations
  and how it depicts ones culture

Expected Outputs

• Multimedia presentation about the fiesta
• Brochure about the place
• Exhibit that will showcase the place and the
  fiesta

How your outputs will be evaluated

• rubrics will be used to assess your outputs
• how you work as a team will be one of the
  criterion so, make sure that all members of your
  group worked together in coming up with the
  outputs
• your performance in this project will constitute
  25 percent of your grade for the quarter
• the exhibit is your venue to promote the Filipino
  culture among fellow students, so, make sure that
  you have showcased the fiesta assigned to your
  group
