  • Classified staff need way to express concerns
  • 5 person committee worked with Billy Joe Varney,
    VP of Admin Services, and Chuck Sakwa, Director
    of Personnel
  • Result birth of the Staff Advisory Council in
    1984

Mission Statement
  • The University of Arizona Staff Advisory Council
    exists to foster and enhance communication
    between the classified staff and the University
    community to provide a forum for discussing and
    defining the role of classified staff in the
    University to represent and advocate their
    concerns within the University and statewide to
    advise and make recommendations on existing and
    proposed policies and procedures and to ensure
    inclusion of classified staff on University
    committees.
