1867 Dynamite

• Alfred Nobel invented dynamite. It is very
  powerful.

1904 Caterpillar Tacks

• Benjamin Holt invented caterpillar track to go
  over mud. A belt under the tread. Allows it to go
  over fences and gullies.

1916 Tanks

• The first tanks had an eight man crew. On the
  first tanks the gun capsules were called
  sponsons. The wheel and tail on the first tanks
  were made of steel. Most tanks to date still have
  an eight man crew.

1935 Radar

• Robert Watson-Watt invented radar when the
  British asked him to invent a radio death ray.
  Radar detects enemy air craft by radio waves
  bouncing off the plane and coming back.

1941 Guided Missile

• A group of German scientists invented the guided
  missile . They were invented to attack Great
  Britain without losing men.

Early 1940s Night Vision Goggles

• Night vision goggles were invented to see in the
  dark. They turn energy into pictures. Soldiers
  can fight 24 hours, but they have to sleep.

1991 Stealth Fighters

• The paint on stealth fighters absorb some of the
  radio waves sent by the radar. The other radio
  waves are scattered everywhere.
