• Do not accept divorce
• Always married in the eyes of the church
• Always married in eyes of God
• Marriage is a sacrament
• Divorce breaks marriage vows
• Some marriages can be annulled declared never
  to have existed

Bible Teachings

• Jesus said in Mark, Anyone who divorces his wife
  and marries another woman commits adultery.
• Jesus said in Mark, What god had joined together
  let no man separate.

Catholics and Remarriage

• Divorced can not be remarried in church
• Those obtaining a civil divorce can be
  ex-communicated
• Those whose marriages are annulled can remarry in
  church

• C of E reluctantly accepts divorce
• C of E does not encourage divorce
• Accepts that in some cases it is the lesser of
  two evils
• Individual priests will decide if willing to
  remarry divorced persons

• Non Conformists do not encourage divorce
• But take a more forgiving attitude
• Jesus said do the most loving thing
• Will remarry people in church
• Expected to attend preparation classes
