Deconstructing your life?
But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord.
Always be prepared to give an answer to
everyone who asks you to give the reason for the
hope that you have. But do this with gentleness
and respect, 1 Peter 315

HOPE
A confident expectation that what God has
promised will happen
16
I consider that our present sufferings are not
worth comparing with the glory that will be
revealed in us. The creation waits in eager
expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.
For the creation was subjected to frustration,
not by its own choice, but by the will of the
one who subjected it, in hope that the creation
itself will be liberated from its bondage to
decay and brought into the glorious freedom of
the children of God.
We know that the whole creation has been groaning
as in the pains of childbirth right up to the
present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who
have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan
inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as
sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this
hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no
hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has?
But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we
wait for it patiently. Romans 818-25

Hope is one of the theological virtues. This
means that a continual looking forward to the
eternal world is not, as some modern people
think, a form of escapism or wishful thinking,
but one of the things a Christian is meant to
do. It does not mean that we are to leave the
present world as it is.
If you read history, you will find that those
who did most for the present world were just
those who thought the most of the next.
It is since Christians have largely ceased to
think of the other world that they have become
so ineffective in this.
Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in.
Aim at earth and you will get neither.
