What do Cancer Research do?

• Cancer Research UK is the worlds leading charity
  dedicated to research on the treatment,
  prevention and causes of cancer.
• They support the work of 3000 scientists, doctors
  and nurses throughout the UK.
• Their annual spend is 213 million, which is
  raised almost entirely by the public.

Why did we choose to help Breast Cancer Research?

• Breast Cancer is the second most common cancer in
  the UK
• Over 41,000 new cases are diagnosed each year
• We wanted people to realise that one in 9 women
  will be diagnosed with it.
• We feel it is very important to find a cure of
  this cancer and many other cancers alike.

What are the signs of Breast Cancer?

• There are many tell-tale signs to look out for
• A lump in the breast
• A change in the size or shape of the breast
• Dimpling of the skin
• A change in shape of your nipple
• A swelling or lump in your armpit.

Joys Story

• Mother-of-three Joy was diagnosed with breast
  cancer in 1989. At the time, Joy was
  experiencing severe pain down the left side of
  her ribcage and discovered a lump in her breast.
  She visited her GP to check it out.
• Test showed the lump was cancerous, Joy then
  underwent surgery and radiotherapy.
• Fifteen years later, Joy is fit and healthy. She
  says I am fine now and grateful to be well.
  If cancer has had a lasting effect on my life, it
  is that exercise has become very important to me.

• Read the brochures that will be in form wallets
  so youre in the know!
