Gods Promises- Our Hope

• Optimistic- its their natural temperament
• Pessimistic
• Genuine hope can never be based on a subjective
  outlook
• If hope is based just on an optimistic spirit, it
  is a hope that is deaf, mute and blind.
• The only valid hope is based on Christ and
  temperament is not its origin.

Christian Hope Grows Out of Faith

• Heb 612, We do not want you to become lazy, but
  to imitate those who through faith and patience
  inherit what has been promised.
• Christian hope is an out growth of Christian
  faith.
• Heb 611, We want each of you to show this same
  diligence to the very end, in order to make your
  hope sure.
• Abraham is an example of this- Heb 613-18

• Gods cleansing If we confess our sins, He is
  faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to
  cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 19)

Christian Hope Is an Anchor

• Heb 619
• Firm and Secure
• Firm- sure, strong
• Secure- trustworthy, steadfast
• Our anchor is grounded in heaven
• Rom 55, And hope does not disappoint us,
  because God has poured out his love into our
  hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
• Rom 824-25, For in this hope we were saved. But
  hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes
  for what he already has? But if we hope for what
  we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

Christian Hope Is a Person Jesus Christ

• Heb 619-20
• Our hope is in the living Savior
• Our hope is planted firmly in heaven
• Our hope is in within the veil with God
• Our hope is our forerunner
• Our hope is our eternal High Priest
• Our hope is our path to God

Bring Hope to Others

• This living hope must be claimed
• It is set before all
• But possessed only by those who, forsaking all
  other offers of hope, surrender to Christ
• Only then is He our refuge, our only hope!
• To live without Christ is to live without hope
• Col 127-28, To them God has chosen to make
  known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of
  this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of
  glory. We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching
  everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present
  everyone perfect in Christ.
