Title: Healthy Eating
1Healthy Eating
with William Wallace
2One Day at Kirklandpark Primary the fire alarm
goes off and smoke pours from the school kitchen
where the lunches are being made.
3Three pupils hear the noise and decide that they
should go to investigate. They hear a big bang
and the dinner ladies screaming in surprise.
4Suddenly William Wallace appears from the kitchen
and points to the menu. On the menu today is deep
fried pizza with chips and deep fried mars bar.
William Wallace explains that he is here to
change the menu to make it healthier. The
children offer to help him.
5To make the menu healthier Wallace decides to add
some dishes of his own. He goes hunting for
healthy food.
6Unfortunately Wallaces idea of healthy food is
not the same as the childrens. He returns
holding a rabbit!
7When the children see the rabbit they realise
that no one will want to try Wallace's healthier
menu. He cooks the Rabbit but no one wants to try
it!
8The children explain to Wallace that tastes in
food have changed a lot over the centuries. They
take him along to the computer room to carry out
some research.
9Wallace learns that healthy food is good for the
body and it leaves you feeling fit. With 5
portions of fruit and vegetables a day you have a
balanced diet .
10Wallace reads some cook books to find some tasty
recipes. He knows he must make tasty and
nutritious food for the children to eat.
11Finally Wallace has a new menu for the children
to try.
12All the children decide to try Wallaces menu.
They all enjoy it and begin to feel the benefits
of a healthy diet. They feel fit and healthy.
13When it is time for Wallace to leave he has a
special present for the children. He leaves them
his cook book full recipes so that they can
continue with their healthy diet.
