Disaster Response Plan ESF 4 9
2Statewide Fire-RescueDisaster Response Plan
- Numerous fire-rescue agencies in the U.S. have
needed assistance in large incidents in recent
years.
3Statewide Fire-RescueDisaster Response Plan
- The Connecticut Fire Service created the
Statewide Emergency Response Plan to provide for
the systematic mobilization, deployment,
organization, and management of Fire-Rescue
resources throughout the State, and the Nation,
in assisting local agencies in remediation of the
effects of a disaster.
4Statewide Fire-RescueDisaster Response Plan
-
- The Statewide Emergency Response Plan lends
itself to the rapid activation and response of
aid to a community in the event of a localized
disaster. - These events include train derailments,
hazardous material incidents, wildland fires,
domestic terrorism and other events that may
overwhelm the department and its normal mutual
aid resources - serving the community
5Statewide Fire-RescueDisaster Response Plan
-
- The State is divided into three regional
response areas. - Region 1 (Litchfield Fairfield Counties)
- Region 2 (Hartford, New Haven Middlesex
Counties) - Region 3 (New London, Tolland Windham Counties)

Incident Management Team  The intent of the
Incident Management Team (IMT) is to support the
Incident Commander. The ultimate goal being to
enhance Fire Fighter Safety and prepare Command
for potential interaction with the State and
Federal Agencies that may respond because of the
size or scope of the incident. It is NOT the
intent of the IMT to replace or be a substitute
for the Local Incident Commander. The IMT mission
is to assist in the use of the National Incident
Management System (NIMS) as needed. Statewide
