Prior Arrangements

• They lived in Frankfurt then moved to Amsterdam
  to escape the Nazis.
• Nazis went to Amsterdam, so Franks went into
  hiding, on July 6,1942

• Amsterdam, Holland
• Prinsengracht 263
• Above Otto Franks office

Living Schedule

• 630- am woke up and used bathroom
• 830- was quite because the workers had arrived
• 930-Breakfast was served in Vaans room
• 1245- Ate lunch and listened to BBC radio

Living Schedule cont.

• Reopened at 2, workers came back, would read and
  rest until 5-530
• 900 went to sleep
• On weekends had to be quiet all the time

Food

• Got food from the Black market
• Had food coupons, person arrested
• Ate rotten potatoes, kale, rotten lettuce, rotten
  carrots, hot cereal, and bread
• Birthdays-cake or sweets
• Skip meals to make sure food supply would last

Sleeping Arrangements

• Street level floor
• 1st floor- kitchen and office (people worked)
• 2nd floor- Franks and Pfeffer bedroom
• 3RD-Vaan Pels bedroom
• 4th-attic
