Title: Automated Test Suite Design For VPL
1Automated Test Suite Design For VPL
- Mohd Farid B Jaafar, Assoc. Prof Hasan Selamat
Project Summary This project is about designing
an optimized automated test suite for Visual
Programming (VP). In order to give the confidence
what is visualize are correctly transform in VP,
we can design a test suite and test the program.
We propose the application of Gray Box (GB)
testing and Regression Testing Selection (RTS)
for this test suite designer. GB testing is the
combination of Black Box testing and White Box
testing will be used to create the test suite.
Then, by using RTS technique we will select the
required test case hence reduce the number of
test cases and fasten the process. We will be
following What You See Is What You Test (WYSIWYT)
methodology. Based on this approach, it will
track the outputs that users have validated, and
the dependencies that have been exercised in
their validation. The goal will be to develop an
automated test suite for VP and reduce the number
of test case but still maintain the best coverage
in test.
Project Quality Benefit This technology give the
assurance to the VPL user what they visualize is
correctly transform into a target code by
automating the process of designing test suite.
It also optimize the test suite to fasten and
make the test suite more manageable. Project
Potential This technology has the potential to
be an application that helps the developer and
user in understanding their program and believe
what they are doing is right. Impact towards
country and society This technology will have
great impact on the computer society where
verification and validation of a program is main
concern. Knowledge/Technology Advancement
Contribution This technology will contribute to
the designing a test suite (mainly in VP) and the
knowledge in reduction of test suite.
