There is a measure of love for God that Jesus is
expecting from us believers. Q Is your love
for God increasing? Q Are you falling in love
with Jesus more and more? Q Are you a lover of
God?

The Bible commanded us to love God. Deuteronomy
65 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with
all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with
all thy might. Matthew 2237 Jesus said unto
him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all
thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all
thy mind.

• Q. Why do you think God needs to command us to
  love Him?
• because it is not automatic for us Christians
  to be a lover of God.
• because we need to be like Jesus Himself, who
  loves God the Father
• because God knows the benefits of loving Him
• many Christians miss the blessing of God simply
  because they are not lovers of God

Exodus 208 but showing mercy to thousands, to
those who love Me and keep My commandments.

Deuteronomy 79 Therefore know that the Lord
your God, He is God, the Faithful God who keeps
covenant and mercy for a thousand generations
with those who love Him and keep His
commandments

Deuteronomy 30 16 in that I command you today
to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways,
and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and
His judgments, that you may live and multiply
and the Lord your God will bless you in the land
which you go to possess. 17 But if your heart
turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn
away, and worship other gods and serve them, 18
I announce to you today that you shall surely
perish your shall not prolong your days in the
land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and
possess.

love with Jesus?

Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your
God with all your heart, with all your soul, and
with all your mind. Matthew 2237
Q How many Christians today are truly lovers of
God?

HOW DO WE KNOW THAT WE ARE LOVERS OF GOD?

• When we obey Gods Word.
• - John 1415if you obey My commands
• When we do His will.
• - John 1423 If you do what I say
• When we spend time with God, just loving Him to
  know more of Him and to receive from Him.
• - John 1421 He who has my commandments
  and keeps them, he it is who loves Me

JOHN, The Beloved Is an example of a Lover of God.
We call him John the Beloved. But the Bible
described him as The Disciple whom Jesus loved

disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, "They
have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't

Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus
loved was following them. (This was the one who
had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and
had said, "Lord, who is going to betray you?")

Do we realize now why the book of Revelation was
given through John?
One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved, was
reclining next to him. 24 Simon Peter motioned to
this disciple and said, "Ask him which one he
means." 25 Leaning back against Jesus, he asked
him, "Lord, who is it?" 26 Jesus answered, "It is
the one to whom I will give this piece of bread
when I have dipped it in the dish." Then, dipping
the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas Iscariot,

• Because of the increase of wickedness, the love

Christian life is a love relationship with Jesus.
But mark this There will be terrible times in
the last days. 2 People will be lovers of
themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud,
abusive, disobedient to their parents,
ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving,
slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not
lovers of the good,4 treacherous, rash,
conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers
of God5 having a form of godliness but denying
its power. Have nothing to do with them. -
2 Timothy 31-5
