Choosing the Right Font

• With so many choices available, it is often
  difficult to choose the right size, color, and
  type of font
• The following slides provide guidelines for
  effective uses of font when creating PowerPoint
  presentations

Font Style Guidelines

• Use sans serif fonts, such as Arial
• Arial fonts look better on images
• Times New Roman, is slender and is hard to read
  across from a distance

Font Size

• Titles should be 44 pt. plus or minus 4
• Body text should be 32 pt. plus or minus 4

Directions for Choosing Font Size

• From the tool bar, click on Format
• Then select Font - font window opens
• On the right side you will see font size, select
  the font size that you want.

from a PowerPoint pull-down menu

Choosing a font that is easy on the viewers eyes!

• Use fonts that are simple and clear
• Don't try to be too fancy
• Do not cram words together

• From the tool bar, click on Format

• On the bottom right side you will see color,
  select the desired color

• Colors have an impact on the audience
• Red is hard to see from a distance
• Avoid using red!!!
