• Reggie Keller, a
• 71-year-old African American married man, comes
  to the emergency department because of an
  inability to void for the past 12 hours.

• Subjective Data
• Complains of severe bladder pain and pressure
• Is very restless and agitated
• Relates history of three cans of beer the
  previous evening HNV since then

Objective Data

• prostate enlargement on digital rectal exam
• hematuria and WBCs in urine
• palpable bladder above umbilicus
• PSA test 6ng/ml (normal 0-4ng/ml)
• indwelling catheter inserted by MD
• admitted to hospital
