TRANSAVOIRS Partnership

TRANSAVOIRS Context
  • Since the 1970s, continuing vocational training
    has been developed through a system of mandatory
    tax paid by companies.
  • In 2003 a national Agreement redifines a number
    of regulations concerning continuing vocational
    training, especially for older workers.
  • Objective to increase the employement rate of
    people over 50 from 36,8 to 50 in 2010.
  • Employees with 20 years of experience or aged 45
    will be able to apply to
  • Personal skills analysis,
  • Validation of personal and vocational skills,
  • Employees over 50 will benefit from
  • special working contracts,
  • Personal skills analysis,
  • Validation of personal and vocational skills,
  • Training leave.

TRANSAVOIRS Specific objectives
  • TRANSAVOIRS project aims at
  • Creating synergy among regional partners to
    improve information and access to continuing
    vocational training for employees who usually do
    not benefit from training actions, particularly
    employees aged over 45.
  • Through a better understanding of the age
    diversity in each company,
  • The identification of current factors of
    discrimination,
  • A testing of specific training schemes and
    competence oriented measures on pilot
    companies,
  • The diffusion of the findings among social
    partners and policy makers.

TRANSAVOIRS achievements
  • ? The project has been selected in June 2005
    only project on the theme E the Pays de la Loire
    region.
  • Results after one year of activity
  • 1st phase development
  • ? 1st concrete output is a software developed in
    order to collect data on companies training
    activities as well as age distribution (1st
    objective of the project).
  • ? Workshop on E-Portfolio, support from Eifel.

TRANSAVOIRS achievements
  • 2nd phase testing
  • The testing of the software has been carried out
    by Agefos and Opcareg training advisors
  • 1300 companies data have been collected
  • 3rd phase exploiting the data
  • A training programme is currently designed. This
    programme should enable the advisors to use
    companies data (extracts from the software) to
    provide IAG in order to define training
    strategies applied to workers over 45.
