Room January 29, 2003
2The Digital Reading Room (DRR) Model
- An interactive online reading room which provides
faculty and student access to a wide variety of

the World Wide Web - The DRR model provides a digital solution to
handle electronic course reserves at AU
3The Evolution of ADLIB
- ADLIB Athabasca Digital Library in a Box
- It is not only an e-course reserves tool but also
a metadata/learning objects repository content
management tool
4ADLIB Project Building on DRR success
- Many AU Learning Management Systems have used the
DRR to support and enhance their online course
development - The DRR model has either met or exceeded IMS
Digital Repositories Interoperability OKI
Standards - Mechanism to ensure validity and currency of the

Aloha, Splash, Xplorer) through the
implementation of the XML/OAI architecture/protoco
l - work with other eduSource partners to explore the
use of MARC/Z39.50 architecture/protocol in the
repository network
