Smoking will not be permitted in indoor public
places and places of employment in Derby.

Any place that the public is invited or allowed
to enter.

Health facilities
Educational facilities
Retail stores
Waiting rooms

Government offices
Movie theaters
Public transportation
Restaurants (not licensed to serve alcohol)

Conference rooms
Break rooms
Company vehicles
Classrooms
Work Areas

Cafeterias or food courts
Lobbies
Private offices

To maintain a smoke-free indoors
Smoking will also not be permitted within 20 feet
of entrances, exits, or air intake ventilation
systems of any of smoke-free indoor environment.

Why go smoke-free?
To improve and protect the public's health
(including the health of employees) 
To guarantee the right of nonsmokers to breathe
smoke-free air  
To recognize that the need to breathe smoke-free
air has priority over the choice to smoke.

Are there exceptions?
Licensed premises or establishments licensed
to serve alcohol or cereal malt beverages by the
drink are exempt until Wichita passes a similar
regulation
although such establishments may choose to go
smoke-free at any time.

Other exceptions include
Private residences and personal vehicles, except
when used as childcare, adult day care or as a
health care facility.

Outdoor places of employment so long as they are
outside of the 20-foot smoke-free buffer zone

Promote your new smoke-free environment through
marketing and advertising

Required by ordinance!
Adopt a Smoke-Free Policy and share it with
employees

Educate employees what they should do if a patron

suffices.
