Who is eligible to enroll?

• FOR PART I AND PART II
• Elementary Teachers who hold a Certificate of
  Qualification from the Ontario College of
  Teachers for the Primary/Junior Divisions
• Teachers who have completed Primary Education
  Part I and II (or equivalency)

Will this course differ from the one offered in
Ontario?

• The course expectations will be the same.
• The delivery mode will include two distinct
  components
• 1) 60 hours online May 1-June 13/08
• 2) 48 hours of practicum in England
• June 30 July 11, 2008

What will the practicum in the UK involve ?

• You will spend 4 days in two different primary
  school settings.
• Your practicum will involve focused observation,
  discussions with colleagues, working with
  students, and some formal teaching.

What are the benefits of a practicum?

• You will be immersed in the British Primary
  School environment for 2 wks.
• You will be assigned to a mentor teacher in 2
  different schools.
• You will compare/contrast the setting,
  curriculum, interaction, and teaching/learning
  experiences between Ontario and West Sussex,
  England.

Course Assignments

• The online component will include readings, short
  answer tasks, and
• online chats.
• The Culminating Project for the course will be a
  comparative analysis of the two educational
  systems.
